The first time I ever had sup tulang (sweet and spicy mutton bone soup) was when you brought the dish home. The intense redness of the dish threw me off, but you gamely smiled, took a straw and said, “This is how you enjoy it,” before slurping up the bone marrow.
Till today, it’s a treat for the family, and we come up with all sorts of celebratory excuses like Chinese New Year (because red is luck) and National Day (to celebrate Singapore) and I really wish you could join us every time I picked up some sup tulang from Golden Mile.
